How To Use Do Not Disturb in iOS 6 [Video Tutorial]

Among the many new features in iOS 6 is Do Not Disturb. When enabled, this feature will completely silence all notifications, calls, alerts (except alarms), and prevent the screen from turning on. It’s a very handy feature for those who occasionally need some quiet time.

If you’d like to setup Do Not Disturb, watch the video or follow the steps below:

Step 1: Go into the Settings app on your device and tap on “Notifications.”
Step 2: At the top of the screen, tap on “Do Not Disturb.”
Step 3: Next, you’ll be able to setup Do Not Disturb. If you’d like to automatically enable this feature on a daily basis, turn on the “Scheduled” toggle and tap on the row that appears beneath it. Setup a schedule using the scroll wheels, then tap on “Do Not Disturb” in the top left corner.
Step 4: You can also grant specific calls permission to ring when Do Not Disturb is enabled. To do this, tap on the row labeled “Allow Calls From” and then choose from one of the listed options. You can allow calls from everyone, no one, favorites, or specific contact groups. When you’re done setting these options, tap on “Do Not Disturb” in the top left corner.
Step 5: The last option within the settings is “Repeated Calls.” This will allow your device to ring if the same person calls twice within three minutes. You can use the toggle switch to enable or disable this option.
After you’re done setting up Do Not Disturb, tap on “Notifications” and then “Settings” in the top left corner. If you’ve created a schedule for Do Not Disturb, it will automatically activate and deactivate on time. If you’d like to use this feature manually, you can enable it by switching the Do Not Disturb toggle to “ON” within the Settings app. When your device is in Do Not Disturb mode, a moon icon will appear in the status bar next to the time.
