Remember the Samsung Galaxy S III Mini? We’ve been hearing this guy rumored for some time now, supposedly arriving as a four-inch WVGA model, and like the US versions of the GS3, running a dual-core SoC. After all, for as great a phone as the GS3 itself is, a 4.8-inch screen can be just a bit large for some of our tastes. As we await official confirmation of the Mini, it’s already showing up in some retailers’ systems.
It’s often hard to know how much stock to put in such leaks, as a retailer doesn’t always need a good reason to add a rumored handset to its database, but these finds are certainly looking plausible. What’s interesting is that the data reveals not only a couple color options for the GS3 Mini, but there being separate models with and without NFC. That’s very odd, especially how pricing indicates that the phones without NFC would actually be the more expensive options; how does that make any sense?
Supposedly, these GS3 Mini models will go up for sale later this month, so at least we won’t have much of a wait on our hands before we get the full story. Samsung has an event coming up for October 11, and it’s dropped a few hints that it might announce the Galaxy S III Mini then.
