Samsung working on Android 4.1 update for Galaxy S III

Samsung is on the verge of releasing an Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update for its Galaxy S III smartphone, according to a recent SamMobile report. The mobile blog claims that internal testing of the new firmware is complete and that a public-ready version is ready. All that stands in the way, or so it seems, is a final approval from the Google team.
Samsung is also said to be making progress on the 4.1 update for the Galaxy S II and Galaxy Note. Considering both continue to sell quite well, it makes sense that Samsung would want them to see Jelly Bean. Should Samsung encounter any issues with either device and its update, the handset maker may elect to deploy a "value pack" with some, if not most, of the new platform features.

While it's easy to get excited over the update, it's worth noting that Samsung has not confirmed these details. What's more, we still have various carriers to contend with here in the United States. Still, it's nice to see this kind of noise so early on.
