MetroTube today was updated to version 3.3 on Windows Phone, and I was excited to see that one of my feature requests was implemented. Back when MetroTube had made its triumphant return to the Windows Phone Marketplace, I casually tweeted, “Metrotube feature request: “Watch Later” button and playlist access. “ And now with version 3.3, that awesome feature has finally come to Windows Phone.
What’s the “Watch Later” feature on YouTube all about you ask? On every YouTube video out there, if you’re signed in with your YouTube account, there’s a little clock icon at the bottom that will let you add the video to your “Watch Later” playlist. This is great if you’re at work and you don’t want people hearing the sound from a video or you really should be working instead, but you’d like to watch the video at some other time. So the video will be saved in your “Watch Later” playlist and later on you can log in again from your web browser at home or your Xbox 360 YouTube app and watch the video when you have the time. Now with MetroTube 3.3 you’ve got full access to your “Watch Later” playlist so you can catch up on videos you wanted to watch later while you’re on the move… OR, you can also browse through videos on your phone, then hit the “Watch Later” button and then bring up those videos on a larger screen device such as an Xbox 360 attached to an HD TV.
You can download MetroTube from the Windows Phone Marketplace and be sure to let us know in the comments below what you think about the new feature.
P.S. MetroTube has also surpassed 100,000 downloads, which is pretty nice.
